Motorola Cable PVR

    anyone know how to get stuff of the drive to record it to DVD without cracking open the box and alerting the lovely peole at teh cable company?

    You could play it, then record it via analog on your pc. Other than that, no idea.

    I might look into it sometime, I have one of them myself too.

    that is the way I have done it before, it would be nice if the firewire port was active.

    I have the motorola HD DVR and I just use firewire to transfer recorded or live tv to my comp.

    From what I've read, you can use the firewire port to transfer whats playing on the screen. You cant use it to transfer things as files.

    Connect to PC via firewire, press play on tv, press record on pc, viola!

    (Ive not tried it, just going on what I've read)
