I can see why this custom-built Civic would seem pricey to some. They're really counting on the low production numbers and novelty of working with Mugen engineers to have some appeal. I don't like that they started with the Euro car, though. The sedan offered in Japan is a much better platform, and almost makes that much power anyway. Importing one isn't very difficult or pricey in Europe either, so you'd have to really like the inferior hatch. A nice mainstream option for the US would be a Civic with the turbo 2.3L from the Acura RDX...but that makes far too much sense.
