My pride and joy:
2000 Audi S3
Wow...a hatch I would actually drive. Forgive my ignorance...how does that motor compare with the S4 here in the states? Same? Different? That's a pretty sweet little car. I like the color as well.
i believe it's equipped with 1.8T engine with 210hp
Yep, Sporky's right.
The 2000 model features slightly toned down engine from the Audi TT, while the newer model has the same engine as the TT with 225hp.
Some more data:
All wheel drive, traction control, ESP (stability control), 17" stock rims, 4 vented disc brake.
1-60mph in approx. 6.8secs,
Vmax. 152mph (according to specs), 161mph (tested by myself).
No need for a big parking lot (which is a problem in big German cities), but lots of fun.
The funny thing is, you don't see too many of these around and
so they're hard to distinguish from the "normal" A3,
a fact that made me see many astounded faces on the highway, especially from BMW drivers.
Glad you like it.
damn you, i want it
*off-topic* according to your red plates you have it registered as a seasonal car?
damn that looks pretty sweet too bad we dont get em
No, I made the pix when I just got it (bought it used).
the red licence plates where for transit only, in the meantime I have normal (black-white) ones.
Actually it's suposed to be fun in winter..
another good looking car that will never make it to the U.S.
fuckin sweet ride mang
never make it to the us? its already been tested here for quite a while, it won't be long til we get one
I like it...we want them in the States!!
I wish we got that state-side.
There is a3's.. but no s3's...
Yea, since when are there A3's here
man that's a beauty, about how many american dollars did u pay for it? And we never had a3s here, I wish though.
i remember a few years ago when i was in london i spotted some A3's for the first time and i was like
Someone needs to throw a APR Stage 3 on an S3
What's that exactly?
There's plenty of headroom for a performance upgrades in the 1.8t, comparable to those available in the US, I think.
e.g. MTM Stage 5:
345 hps, including bigger turbo with open wastegate (?), stainless steel exhaust system, altered ECU, altered air intake, etc.
Those do 170+ mph!
Anyway, it's winter now in Germany so I've changed wheels on the car.
Those look horrible (16" black steel rims with 205/55 tires), but they'll do.
I'm just waiting for the first snow so I can go to an empty parking lot and test the 4WD!
APR stage 3 sounds similar to MTM Stage 5-- it puts out about 320hp. I'm not too sure on the specifics--i'm a bimmer guy
I bet that awd is badass in the snow! Get a video if you do any crazy stunts!
Badass car my friend
