To spike your insulin levels or someshit,
what do you guys think about this?
insulin is one of the most anabolic hormones in your body
its generally a good idea to get some carbs in post-workout
but when you said "something sweet" I pictured you slamming a box of krispy kreme donuts or something
Nah, he said to like eat a spoonful of jelly before I take my postworkout shake, as an example.
i do it, i mix my post shake with orange juice
I think this is a good idea in theory, but in actuality super overdone by most people. If you're a skinny twink and need to gain weight, it will certainly be a good idea, but I'm not sure this isn't more due to the extra calories. The actual amount of food/bcaa's/carbs needed to spike your insulin levels up is much much smaller than most people think. I did an experiment and cut out post workout carbs completely for a few months. All that happened to me is that I dropped a little fat, but keep in mind I'm not trying to gain weight. Now I take a little waxy maize post workout on my most important days (1 or 2 per week) and on the other days I just take straight protein.
so i want to see the pic of what im assuming is his daughter?
ohhh and lol "Dr" chiropractor lol
I think pur's suggestions of drinking a gatorade p/w is great. Only about 34g of carbs.
Works best for runners and other athletes that destroy their glycogen stores during their workout.
It's not bad for people like us, insulin is good after a workout
i go home and eat after a work out. i think post workout shit is so overblown
it really is but a protein shake and a gatorade are WAYYY easier to get down then a full blown meal right after you work out.
if you guys want to try out a great post workout product, look to golden gains, we have free samples as well, through the link in the green magnitude thread
for last week's discussion on this topic, scroll down a bit...
Sometimes I grab myself a Pepsi or some other pop instead of Gatorade.
"To spike your insulin" levels? What lol? I intake 35g of protein within the first 20 minutes of my workout followed by a piece of fruit.
Is that video serious? It's not like a troll?
lol optimal window.....optimal window
big pudz from poland eats a lot of chocolate and candy between his meals.
you want to avoid fats pwo because fats slow down digestions and absorption of nutrients.
I always eat pop tarts after a workout
the guy who's picture I posted in the brag thread has post-workout twizzlers
my post workout meal yesterday
1.5 scoops of ON whey
a fruit by the foot (like a fruit rollup)
and a strawberry shortcake ice cream
