Typically what happens is an agent will try to extend the shelf life of a girls career. So at first they start with just g/g or b/g only, then down the road ad IR. Some girls absolutely won't do IR. Part of the problem with IR is how it portrayed in the industry. It is like an OTers nightmare. It is all about some big bad black man fucking some little white girl. That is the ONLY thing considered IR in this business. Asian girl fucks white guy is not IR. Black guy fucking asian girl is not IR. The only thing that is IR is white on black. The reason it is like this is because in the South, IR sells huge, especially the ones like "My Daughter is Fucking Blackzilla".

Because of that a lot of the girls will stay away from IR because of how ridiculous it is and so will many agents. Or some girls do selective IR. They got no problem working with a brother, but don't want to work in the aforementioned title.

-Can you run through a typical day of work for you, when you're on set?

Sort of depends what I am doing that day, but I will give this a shot.

Typically I am up pretty early, like 730am. Call times are typically 9am unless I have a short day then I will push it back to 10am.

My assistant will come by and load up all the gear into the SUV and then I usually stop at Jamba Juice for a Banana Berry for the day. I find that works for me better then eating a meal, which tends to weigh me down.

We get to set and either makeup has already started or we all get there the same time and the PA helps the model and the makeup artist setup, while I start scoping the location.

First thing I need to plan out is stills. No matter the kind of scene, every scene we shoot as to have what is called "pretty girls". These are basically solo shots used in the marketing of the scene or movie. So I start looking for a good area to do my pretty girls for the day. Once I figure out the spot, the PA builds up my strobes into the general lighting pattern I want to use. Typically it is three lights, sometimes it just two. Depending on the weather and the color of the sky I like to do outdoor shots with a strong blue sky and hard edge lights. Otherwise I try to find a good spot at the location that has a mix of good natural light that I can mix my strobes into.

While I am doing stills, my assistant is typically multitasking. He is helping me with the photos, usually doing minor lighting movement changes as the model moves and he is setting up the hard lights for the first shot of the day. After the pretty girls are done it is time to figure out our shots for the day. Sometimes we have a script with a shot list or if it is my Evil product line, then it is considered "gonzo", which is a porno term for when the camera is an active participant and the talent acknowledges and plays to the camera. Those days are easier because I try and shoot all natural light for the video, so I have to get very specific locations that can afford that.

With the script scenes, then it comes down to breaking each section out. For example we have door way shot, followed by dialogue in kitchen, then hallway then into sex. That stuff tends to be more complicated because you have to repeat things until you have the right take where it flows well and also you have to get multiple angles. Two shot, master shot, singles, stuff like that.

At this point I pretty much shoot the majority of my video on the Canon 5D Mark II. Occasionally I will use my Sony XDCAM EX3, but the 5D is just more interesting to shoot with. The only problem with the 5D is while I do have a rode mic that goes into my 5D, that audio tends to be more of backup purposes. I use a boom mic with a dedicated audio recorder. On the much bigger shoots I will hire an actual boom operator. So one of the things my assistant has to do is lug around the boom mic. We keep it on a C Stand, but he still has to constantly move it into place. If the mic is even a little off, it just doesn't sound right.

After we go through all the dialogue and we get to the sex we then setup for stills again, however this time I shoot what are called "Story Board" photos. These photos you would recognize on something like Brazzers sites. It is the performers miming out the plot points. After the story board shots I then shoot the sex stills. So we shoot the entire sex scene in just photos. We don't shoot the actual cumshot till the very end. Sometimes we will take photos of a fake cumshot. The fake cumshot is either Cetaphil or Pina Colada mix. The performers then put all their clothes back on and now we shoot the sex scene. They basically have to do it all over again but this time the actual fucking. Depending on the flow of the scene the performers will fuck for roughly 40 minutes. On certain productions even they then have to do the sex all over AGAIN, but this time they do the scene completely soft. This means they can't show any penetration and they can't show any genitalia. After the softcore is done, then the scene is basically over.

If I am shooting two scenes that day then while we are shooting the sex, the makeup artist is doing the makeup on the second girl. After her makeup is done and the first scene has been completed, we then begin the whole process again but this time for the second scene.

Depending on the production I cut checks for everyone after their scene is done. When the last scene is done I then cut checks for the location and the crew. Everything is packed up, location is cleaned up and we all go home to repeat it again the next day.

-How you do design or find the sets on which you shoot?

We use the same location agents that hollywood uses. The location agencies basically represent a massive amount of various locations, everything from commercial and residential properties, to boats and cars to very high end penthouses and estates. It is up to the owner to decide if they will allow porn. I have seen plenty of locations that I shoot at, also in mainstream productions.
