Just kidding Nice stuff.
I want a double helix design (DNA strand) down my spine. Any idea how much that'd run me?
depends on who you go to. prices can range from $60- $120 an hour. In Texas you could probably get a good price range in a bigger city shop.
u know i like it
very nice.. I think I'd like it a little better if it were just the flowers though.... the vines are kind of distracting...
lebaron would be pissed
I called it
I don't like the vines either. I've had them since I was 14 years old though, and am in the slow and expensive process of getting it all covered up.
Trust me, noone hates the vines more than myself
I'm sure you were the first person in history to have a double helix tattoo...
He was, of course.
What are your plans for the cover up? More flowers? I've seen some great flower sleeves.
half sleeve by my artist..
let's not jack another thread with the whole double helix thing ok
people are ignorant
chicks with sleeves = My wife has started talking about a 1/2 sleeve of flowers....
hey nicole---nice ink (and yes i know you from somewhere else)
and thanks! Nice to see people appreciate a work in progress!
joy divis - that is beautiful shit! you have a talented artist, and yes I do plan to have it mainly flowers. Some junglesque leaves in there too, but mainly flowers. Lots of color, though no pinks...more blues, purples, yellow, and the likes.
keep us updated, I'm sure it will be great !
I don't know what pisses me off worse though, the tools that judge or those that give a damn about them. Seriously you and I (should) know that their judgemental ways are nothing but a clear display of their insecurity and weakness and submitting to their attitude takes away all the pleasures of having the tattoos IMO.
If you're going to get sleeves but then hide them 23/7 then its pretty to me.
Sorry, just my opinion
I have over 15 hours of work done in a single very intricate tattoo... 95% of the people that I meet never see it. Only close friends even know about it.
I didn't get tattoos to show off or for other people, therefor I don't need them seeing it...but if I had a sleeve it would be impossible to hide it unless it was winter 24/7.
Joy don't get me wrong, I love those sorts of tats too mate. In fact the only piercings that I get are like that i.e PA.
As you stated though you wouldn't/couldn't be like that if you got sleeve work done. Perhaps I'm generalising too much but sleeve work isn't done to be demure about and in crak's particular story the only reason they seemed to be hidden was due to people's reactions.
Tattoos aren't necessarily done just for aesthetics or other people's reactions that's for certain.
i had always thought you liked the vines--kinda like your trademark--but i like this better, and i'll be interested to see how it turns out over time
Oh shit, that was you?
Scratch that idea.
skill club or t.com?
noone on any other forums would talk to me.
and i only liked the vines when i first got them.
I showed them to people, and dealt with them, but never liked them as an adult.
i grew out of my "OMG im so cool because i have a tattoo" phase, and started to appreciate the art itself.
While my vines are 'art', they're not the sort i want to continue looking at for the rest of my life. I want something beautiful, that makes me smile when I see it. The way these flowers do.
i pretty much have sleeves and i get asked on a daily basis by people to see them. If i'm at work i have no problem showing them off but if im out at a movie or dinner its very rare i'll let people look. if they ask i just explain that they're for me and only me. im the same as Joy Division, i got my tattoos for me.
