Just got it back...it was done by Paisley Automotive...the car is absolutely amazing!
very nice! how does the tranny hold up to it? renforced in anyway? my bro has an IS300 just like that one, same color... he wants to turbo it also...
5 speed or auto?
what size turbo is that on there? and how much boost are you running?
also...do you have an idea of how much power you're putting down now?
Beautifun man....I love it
My only question....whats the purpose of the tin-foil looking heat shield? What is it protecting?
my guess would be to keep the turbo from getting TOO hot since it sits next to the manifold. or maybe to keep heat away from the i/c pipes
The foil is just temporary until the good looking heat shield comes back from prototyping. The car is an automatic because the stick trannys can only hold 400hp...the auto can take more than 600whp.
What type/size is the turbo and how much boost..?
Do you have to do any mods to that tranny, or in stock form it will take more than 600hp?!?!
It`s a T-66 turbo...it`s set at 8lbs now. I still have stock compression, so it won`t get turned up till I do the head gasket and injectors...then I can run 15lbs! The tranny with 600hp only had adjustments made to the valve body. I will build my tranny anways before I go more boost.
Although you obviously know that thing is one insanely sneaky mofo, and one of the nastiest sleepers that I have ever seen, sometimes it's good to hear it - Very, very, very nice. You must surprise a lot of unsuspecting "fast" car owners.
Nice car! I saw it on Montreal Racing!
Wow. Nice car. Must be nice
How much did that cost you?
And how much HP?
very nice car
600whp huh? you never thought a fellow is300 owner would tread over here and read this thread yea? HAHAHAHAHAH 600hp my ass...cariza is only making 420rwhp and his 3rd gear already went out....600whp maybe for 5second. how are you going to go and make such absurd claims when neither you or anyone else in the is300 world have tested it? i bet you dont even know what the valve body is or does...but that's ok.
and you never answered my question of why you would go with a t66 "for now"....u have stock compression and are at low boost and no fuel...i would love to see you try and run a 13sec past with that setup, you'd be half way down the track before u make any boost due to lag and once u hit boost...and its relatively low pressure setting for such a large turbo.
And dont forget about the 606rwhp is300 from toyomoto. I heard that auto tranny blew out.
I make full boost at 3000rpms. Um and I am keeping the T-66. By the way...you can argue all you want about this...but I think Paisley Automotive knows way more about this subject then you'll ever know.
And your comment about "Stock compression. low boost, and no fuel" is quite puzzling. Stock compression gives a more linear curve to a turbo car, also I have plenty of fuel.
The more I read your posts the more I realize you know nothing.
who makes the kit ?
where can i get more info ?
and is it intercooled?
when that turbo spools all depends on what trim the wheels are. i know a guy that has a T66 on his miata and it spools (full 15psi) at 3500rpm. i know that the inline 6 of the IS can spool one to 8lbs by when he claims.
The turbine side is 58 so it spools quicker.
your first turbo is was totaled right?
