SPORTS Name overrated fighters.

roose

I'll start:

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson

Sure he caught Liddell, that's one feather in his cap. Sure he beat Dan Henderson, but see below*.

Other than that, what has he done in the past few years? He'd KO'd a C level fighter in Eastman. Won probably the closest split decision ever against Lindland, a career 185. Dong, another 185'r took him to a decision. Another split decision win against Ninja, yup you guessed it, 185'r.

Rampage has lost to all the notable 205'rs he has fought, except for Liddell. How can that be you ask? Most of his fights have been against 185'rs. I admit, the powerbomb against Arona is top 10 highlight of all time.

But other than his 2 wins over Liddell, and the slam on Arona, why are his nuts hugged so tight around here? Because he is funny in a talk about yourself in a delusional, slurred, 3rd person way?

*Fighter number two

Dan Henderson

He KO'd Silva which was awesome. Knocked out a couple of japanese 170'rs (gono, chonan).

And won and lost a whole bunch of (mainly boring) decisions. :o:greddy:

Now that I have won the cage popularity contest, post some more.

agree on both. RAmpage is a likeable champ because he's entertaining but raelly looking at stats he isnt that impressive

Looking at records, randy couture is also overrated and isnt as elite as people make ihm out to be.

And again he's old, got great heart which make him a great fighter.

Lots of the fighters that UFC has made into "wow this guys such a good fighter" are not all that great.

Rampage is underated...you have to consider he was fighting in a league where there was no drug testing...In the UFC i dont thinks theres a stronger 205er and i think he will handle wandy

with that logic he would of done better as everyone would want to level the playing field as rampage would of done this aswell.

wandy has shown his agressiveness in the UFC and shows very little change between pride/ufc

Rampage was being hailed as the second coming of christ right up to his loss against forrest. That isn't being called 'underrated'. He was coming in top five on all the P4P lists.

Plus your point about steroids is a red herring.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson

Sure he caught Liddell, that's one feather in his cap. Sure he beat Dan Henderson, but see below*.

He had Chuck's number so it wasn't a lucky punch. At the time, Chuck hadn't lost for over 4 years and knocked out all the opponents he faced, and was the face of the UFC.

When he beat Henderson, Dan had two belts, even if his middleweight belt was questionable, and had just knocked out Wanderlei and taken the belt Wand had owned for years.

Other than that, what has he done in the past few years? He'd KO'd a C level fighter in Eastman. Won probably the closest split decision ever against Lindland, a career 185. Dong, another 185'r took him to a decision. Another split decision win against Ninja, yup you guessed it, 185'r.

You can't ask much more from him than to beat who's put in front of him. He's not the match maker. Lindland and Ninja have fought at many weights.

Rampage has lost to all the notable 205'rs he has fought, except for Liddell.

Arona, Vovchanchyn, Randleman aren't notable?

Imo he was robbed against Forrest, meaning the only notable 205ers that have beaten him are Shogun and Wanderlei.

I agree Hendo's a bit overrated. He shouldn't have even kept his Pride middleweight belt in the first place. He needs to stay at 205, and fight smarter.

I think hes much better at 205 he loosk like he is dragging ass when he fights mw. the rampage fight was insane. I think that was the best hendo fight Ive ever seen.

Over rated as in now? or their career?
Its really hard to decide because when you look back at fighters careers they might have fought the who's who of mma and then fought nobodys for a year and people think they are over rated. When you only fight 3-4x a year it can be tough to get the opponent you want when things change so quickly with 1 tko or submission.
AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE BECAUSE STONE COLD SAID SO
