seems lower in in a lot of categories, but those are all things that can be improved. Physical (ie wingspan) and mental attributes, not so much

I'd personally rather have a rediculous vertical.

    that's because he's a stick that weighs 190 at 6'9

so that's understandable that he can't bench his weight

What all would benching help him with, besides things like passing/shooting?

 is that why greg oden beat durant and probably everyone with his size in just about every category at this workout session?

oden is also only a freshman and his numbers at this point in his career are far better than anyone elses were....and there aren't any true dominant big men in the NBA since Shaq has kinda went downhill. Dwight Howard is one of the few.

upper body strength helps a ton when you're posting up to score and getting rebounds.

:dunno: could go either way... big post-type players usually have an easier time making an immediate impact :dunno:

i'm just worried about how he's gonna compete with the other players at his position... he's a small forward, right?

upper body strength...durant will eventually need that as he grows older and can't rely so much on athleticism. it'd also greatly help him now if he can post up early in his career, in addition with his athletic play.

like who? Scouts are talking about Oden as being Bill Russell // Lew Alcindor level. There are not many big men i can think of who can score (although he wasn't a dominant scorer, he may end up as one may not depending on what the coaches want) and rotate over on defense with a quickness and block/alter a ton of shots.

As for his height of 6'9" and kind of skill, yeah, he's really good which is why he's going second overall but at this point he's like an unproven version of TMAC.

I'm excited for both of them though, it's kind of like the 'melo lebron year when it seemed there were 2 number one picks (although uh, darko went #2 and over the past week lebron has sort of killed that debate, just saying at the time what i thought).

Combine numbers are nice, but every year there are just enough head-scratchers to make one doubt the validity of the process: 2003, Chris Kaman beats T.J. Ford in footspeed, 2004, Andre Iguodala posts a vertical one inch higher than J.J. Redick did last year, 2005, Monta Ellis fails to do a single rep of 185 and was in the bottom 25% of all athletes and Chris Paul tested out slower than Sean May, and in 2006, I think it was Shawne Williams who posted a lower running vertical than standing vertical.

You can't go wrong with either one of them (Oden or Durant).

edit: I think Olowokandi's stats were off the charts, but look at him now.

He'll pay for someone to bench for him.

Can I see your paycheck stub, por favor?
