Dana really dropped the ball
He hasn't dropped it yet. ABC is the best network to be on and no org has signed with them
if they're smart they won't compete for the same airtime
abc = espn = disney
not sure id like disney paired up with the ufc, but fuck, there would be mad production and serious cash for their fighters.
however, fox wouldnt be a bad option... or if their hbo deal ever gets done.
my question is...with more free mma on network tv, will ufc ppv buys decrease?
also, which format is more beneficial in terms of revenue per event: network tv or ppv buys? I know the UFC makes quite a bit on ppv dollars...
On the contrary, i think UFC PPV sales will increase with the increased exposure. The UFC has nearly all the top fighters in their stables and anyone who likes to watch MMA is going to want to see the best of the best fight each other on a UFC PPV.
The challenge will be holding onto these fighters when there are other orgs competitively bidding against the UFC.
Youre probably right, the fighter are benefiting from this the most, no doubt. And thats great news.
