Been looking for a new routine. Right now I just do the simple bodypart breakdown: day 1: chest day 2: back day 3: shoulders and traps day 4: legs I really don't do anything for arms since by the time I am done with chest and back my arms are fried but if they are not I will throw a couple dips or isolation exercises. Was thinking the modified Bill Star routine since it is talked about highly here but was wondering how it is for someone who has been lifting for over 4 years and has a good base. For those that want a breakdown: chest: all dumbbell flat 4 sets starting with 10-12, 8-10, and 2 sets of 4-6. Usually the 10-12 is 100 lbers, 8-10 is 110 lbers, and 4-6 is 120lbers. Sometimes I will do 5x5 with 110. incline 4 sets same as flat but with 80, 90, 100 lbers decline flys 4 sets with 45lbers back: deadlifts usually 4 sets at 275 with maybe 4-6 reps. weighed pullups with 35 lbs for 4 sets usually get 6-9 reps narrow grip seated machine for 4 sets at 205 with 6-8 reps shoulders: dumbbell press 4 sets, 8-10 with 80lbers and then 3 sets with 90lbers for 4-6 front raises for 4 sets with 40lbers for 6-8. rear delt machine for 4 sets with 180lb sometimes i will subsititute front or rear delt with arnold presses traps drop sets of shrugs at 120lbs and 110lb dumbbells usually 10 reps each for 3 sets legs: just started doing so have not figured out yet squats usually 5 sets with 5 reps at 225. hamstring (where you take a barbell bend at the waist and pull back up) usually 135 for 4 sets of 8-10 does anyone have any recommendations?
