So, an assignment for my B&W photography class is to illustrate what DOF is. Oh boy, what a doozie, I know! Anyway, I'm trying to think of creative/cool ways of showing a shallow DOF and was looking for a little input. I've got a 50 1.8 and extension tubes so cutting the DOF isn't going to be an issue. So far I've been thinking of a pic of a tree branch (they're all dead around here) with the bg thrown way OOF. The other idea I had was a chess board with peices and a razor thin DOF. Other than that I can't think of any way that's "creative" to show DOF, I don't feel like taking pictures of batteries, or bullshit like that, I want it to be somewhat cool, any ideas input?
