Finishing off my basement and need ideas. Got pics?
No pictures, but when I build a house, I've got some ideas for what I want.
14g in wall wiring (sick of seeing my damn wires)
Maybe ceiling or wall mounted rear speakers
recessed (in wall) cabinet for receivers/amps/players
and a volume control switch on the wall (like a liteswitch)
Almost forgot, I want REMOTE CONTROL BLINDS!!
LOTS of sound dampening material. I would like to have it all setup in a sound proof room. (I would LOVE to be able to watch band of brothers at MAX volume for 10 hours)
when ur finishing off a room, its great cause u really got a lot of options. here is my hometheater setup.
Sony 27" FS100
Sony dvpnc615 5 disc DVD changer
Sony strde545 5.1 dts receiver
JBL HLS820 Front Floor standing
JBL HLSC Center Channel
Klipsch Qientet Surrounds
Yahmaha YSTSW90 Subwoofer
All Monster Cable & Power
I did all the wiring and stuff before the drywall was up. The entertainment system is also hooked up to my PC, an that too is all run in wall. Stuffs all a little outdated, BUT it does my DTS an thats all i could need. no 8.1 surround an shit thats out now. This sounds amazing (even tho its all pretty much low end stuff) and i wouldnt have it anyother way.
***Pics comming soon***
How many watts is your reciever sending to each channel? How do you like your jbl floorstandings? What kind of music/movies do you listen to/watch?
Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I just finished my basement HT and wanted to share a pic. I still need to finish installing the glass doors on the component shelves...
Go to http://www.projectorpeople.com/ and then go to The home theater tab and click on showrooms.
This is what I currently have...
not sure if i took those in enough light :-/
Here is my old theater with the whole construction process fully documented. click HERE and look at the CURRENT pictures for the best pics. I did most of the construction myself. Enjoy.
a quick pic:
Electrohome 8500-LC 8" CRT projector
Draper Cineperm 106" 16:9 screen
Paradigm Monitor 5 mains
Paradigm CC-370 center
Paradigm Mini-Monitor surrounds
2 Velodyne HGS-15 subs
custom built HTPC
Room was completely acoustically accurate
We just moved into our new house and I'll start construction on the new theater next year. I'm actually going to build a new wing onto this new house and add a larger theater than I had before, extra bedroom and bathroom. I'm also planning a bar area/concession stand and lobby for the theater.
