RCA brings you pictures with a DLP system in the M50WH185 - a brilliantly choreographed, engineering marvel that combines microscopic mirrors, light, and color to bring you the best and brightest pictures possible!

    How DLP Technology Works
In general, DLP technology combines microscopic mirrors, a specially designed semiconductor, and a color wheel to adjust light to display the most brilliant, accurate images possible. Your DLP HDTV doesn't use Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs), which means you don't have to worry about screen burn (fixed video images burning onto the screen permanently) or convergence (realigning the CRTs).

    Why RCA HDTV Is Better
DLP technology is just part of the story. You have chosen to embark on the next generation of TV viewing - HDTV. There are many technological advancements that make HDTV better than analog TV, but there are basically three things about HDTV that bring you a superior viewing experience: superb resolution, a widescreen aspect ratio, and pure a digital signal and sound.

    Other Features

DarkChip Technology offers dramatically increased contrast ratio to provide increased depth, picture sharpness, and true blacks and whites.
SmoothPicture offers the ultimate in picture quality, providing a smooth, seamless image.
Seven-Band EQ: Home Theater Sound from built-in 7-Band Graphic Equalizer or through digital audio output.

there is nothing wrong with dlp's most of them provide very good picture quality, and they have a lower cost per inch than plasma or lcd. that dvd player is shit though.
same tv no dvd for cheeper price no having to worry about rebates and newegg has wonderful return policies if anything is wrong with it.
then get an upscaling dvd player to take advantage of the highdef screen. one such as this would work good:
and then get an inexpensive hdmi cable to allow for the upscaling to work.
    this should do just fine:

DLP is a good technology...but RCA is a shitty company. I'd stay away. If you want dlp go with samsung or mitsubishi. You should be able to get a sammy for that price.
