im 5'9 160lbs, slightly skinny-fat. i played soccer all my life, so ive got some muscle in my legs, but have pretty much no substantial muscle on my upper body. recently joined my colleges rowing crew. so i need to build up some muscle so i can not suck. in rowing there are 2 weight classes, lightweight at a 160lbs cutoff, and open weight. moving up a weight class would put me at a serious disadvantage because i'd be competing against guys 6'+ and >200lbs. mostly i've got diet questions, because i know i'll get stronger from the gym/boat time. but i'm not exactly clear on how i should go about gaining muscle while losing fat at the same time, since i cant use the bulk/cut method most seem to use on here.
