what fucking trash. Am I gonna have to get off the couch to mnaually adjust the downstairs t-stat?
TBH, I am going to change out soon. Between the thermostats going offline constanty (yes I've set them to a static ip), to the delayed response in temperature changes via the app, issues with dust in the smoke detectors and false alarms, I'm out.
Main level is 4000 sqft. I don't think I've opened the app since the pandemicHow small is your house?
you gonna switch to the ecobee?
Not sure yet. I'd like to integrate the smoke/co detectors with the t-stats so it's all in one app, but I don't think they have smokes, do they?
i have had no problems with everthing nest i have in the house honestlyNot sure yet. I'd like to integrate the smoke/co detectors with the t-stats so it's all in one app, but I don't think they have smokes, do they?
wassa room sensor?not 100 percent sure. did a few of their t stats and room sensors about 2 years ago, and have been flawless.

I went with nest smokes since I already had the t-stats. I had one smoke go bad about 2 years ago. We got a nice wakeup alert at 5am with "Heads up, there's smoke in the kid's room". Fucking lovely thing to wake up to. No smoke, ended up being a faulty unit which they replaced for us. Two months ago we work up to "There is smoke, in the master bedroom" at 6am. No smoke, couldn't shut the alarm off. Ripped it off the ceiling and pulled the batteries. Had to blow it out with compressed air and it's been fine ever since.

assuming this works with hvac zoning?temp sensors for rooms farther away from the main thermostat locaiton to deliver proper AC or Heat to that area.
