So what are some tools that you guys recommend for monitoring employees? We're a small company in a W2K (clients and servers) network, but we do have a few people who seem to have a penchant for pissing the day away (not me of course... ). Anyway, I'm always being asked what we can do to find out what they're up to without being overly restrictive. In fact, it's something we pride ourselves on, giving people the freedom to take a break once and awhile. But you know how it goes, a couple of people ruin it for everyone else and then can't figure out why they can't get any work done. I've looked at our proxy logs which does tell me a few things, but I'd like something a lil more professional and to be honest, less time consuming since I've got better things to do than watch over fellow co-workers. Second question is about legality - can what people do on their work computers be used for dismissal? Is there any guidelines for retaining "evidence" for later use? Thx!
