A dealership in VA supposedly has a never been sold/titled '69 Daytona
If true, that car is probably worth upwards of $200,000.00.
holy poop on a stick!!!
damn man...i've never heard such a thing before...are u planning on buying it?do u have any pic's or spec's on it?
Where in VA?
A red one with a 440, Covington, VA (Dressler Motors)
$200,000 cash has already been turned down --- they figure it's worth 7 figures.
it would be interesting to see what it goes for. I don't know how you could put a price on something like that though.
If it's never been ran, or hasn't been ran in 35 years, you will be replacing a LOT of gaskets and rings to get it running properly.
Although if you are paying 7 figures for a muscle car, getting gaskets replaced isn't a big deal.
that's very sad 2 see a car like your describing go like that especially american muscle car's
OK, Let's get more details on this car.
It has been run (6700 on the odometer -- VA calls a car under 7500 new) -- Picked up from a dealer in Fla (not invoiced, or sold), driven to Baltimore for the '69 World Series, then driven to Va and parked in Dresslers showroom.
15's went on it when the Superbird came with 15's in '70 (When it took a family vacation to KY.)
Bill Jr (Dresslers son) has pegged 150 'more than once' and raced the local cops 'in the interest of road testing' (Dressler also tuned the local Fury II cop cars which topped at 140 certified)
Dressler had two dealerships that the car was driven between (hoping for additional exposure) 'til the mid 70's when it was moved to an upstairs storage room.
In the 80's, Trey Dressler (grandson) took it to a local car show and back to storage in '86. In '94 it came back out to the showroom, parked next to their '94 Viper RT/10
Replaced parts: muffler, fuel filter and hoses, upper radiator hose, battery, gas tank
Repaired parts: fuel pump (several times), carburetor (once), the nosecone (someone touched a bench parking it in the shop)
Original invoice = $3,986.01
I honestly have never liked the style of them.
mopars can bring some crazy money$$$$$$$$$$$$$
