I probably already know your answer on this (that it's bad and to stay away...) but I thought I'd ask anyway... cuz I'm kinda hoping the answer is different. I have a friend who has recently been trained to be a tattoo artist. He did a six month apprenticeship under a guy who has been tattooing for 15 years. He is now free to do his own tattoos and is looking for clients. I really want to help him out in getting started (plus his rates are super cheap obviously).... but at the same time I'm worried about him being new and potentially fucking up my tattoo. He would still be working in his mentor's studio with all the proper equipment and sterilization stuff and everything. I'm not super concerned about his artistic ability because my design is fairly simple. It's more just about his knowledge of depth to go, shaky hand, etc (tell me what else could possibly go wrong!!) Would you get a tattoo from a guy who's just finished his apprenticeship and hasn't done any solo tattooing other than a couple touch up jobs?
