53' chevy stepside with 350 small block and 308 rear end with shift kit. picked it up for 5k.
Nice looking truck... what are your plans for it... restore it to original???
all the hard work has been done, it came with a v6 so i want to leave the 350 in it, i will paint it up, probably get some kickass rims, the rims on it now are corvette rims, i need to go through the engine and replace some shit, repaint the block and what not. it runs the way i want it to, got a big cam in it, runs great
Cool, What color? And don't get big flashy rims... keep the classic look, just make it look clean...
big rims would be hot :cool. and yes there are nice wheels out there that would work great with that truck
my vote is to move the rear axle back 2" to fill up the rear of the wheelwells a little better...
but nonetheless...fucking badass truck.
keep us posted on its progress
got to pick between candy apple red and med. to dark blue, i would like to put some cragers on it or something, i think the vette rims take away from it,
I'd stick with teh look it has.. but I like old skool rods.
needs a paint job, kind of a dull look to it now, maybe black, who knows have to wait and see what happens
Awesome truck, it's screaming for a flame job though
i was thinking that myself, would look good with some ghost flames down the sides
my personal opinion, 50's chevys are waaaaaay overdone in red. everyone has a red '57 Chevy around here. I'd go with something off the wall if $$$$ permits. Maybe a white with a pearl over it? I saw a '75 Impala hardtop with a white base and red pearl coat over it, so the car looked ivory til you caught a glare, then it would show a nice deep red/burgandy.
but good find on that truck. not a bad start, and body looks pretty straight.
few spots that i need to cut out the bondo and weld in some new steel, overall it's a good truck
wurd. how about deep navy blue?
new up date, fuel tank was behind the seat, so put in a new fuel cell under the bed, cap is located near the rear of truck bed in the middle of the wood floor, pull fenders off started to strip and sand them, put new door strikers in so doors would shut better, looking for bucket seats now, going to paint it blue should be done around spring or a little later. going to mount seat belts since they don't have them, wasn't required until 70 something
black with white scallops
just to give you guys and up date i'm still working on the truck got most of it sanded down and should be painting it some time this summer
Color/colors?? I saw an older Ford this weekend with a paint scheme that I hadn't ever seen before. The fenders were a different color than the body. I didn't get the best of looks at it as it was sitting at a stop light as I went through the intersection, but I can't say as where I've seen something similar before.
Jealous. That's a very cool truck. I want to get one one day too.
i wish i had about 30k to do that with that would be sweet
thinking of blue with some ghost flames, it's been a tough decision to make, so many cool colors and designs. I wish a had the money to paint it that color that looks different colors at different angles, shit's way to expensive
you dont need 30k ... you need a grinder with a wire wheel, acetone, rain, oxygen and about a year.
Leave it flat black!!!
