Just bought a new Macbook tonight. Not quite sure what i'm doing... and i will need some guidance over the next few days. So, i figure i'll just keep all my questions in one thread. I've been a PC user for... ever, so take it easy on me, i have no idea what i'm doing. I've managed to install Firefox and OpenOffice... but i honestly have no idea how. I was having some difficulty with it, but stumbled upon it correctly (or so it seems for now). Can anyone explain how things get 'installed' on a mac? Even tho i (think) have Firefox installed, it does not show up in the Applications menu (pressing shift+cmd+A, or thru Go>Applications). If i search for Firefox, it comes up, supposedly in the Applications folder, but i cannot actually see it in the normal view. I think i'm missing something somewhere. So, even if i press the red Close button, an Application is really still running? I have noticed this, i'm just making sure. Is the only way to really close an App to cmd+Q (or File>Close)? Is the Dock the only way of seeing what Apps are open? Where the hell are the Page Up/Down, Home, and End keys?? This might be the single most annoying thing for me right now, lol. Is there a PC equivelant to a middle click? I am used to opening new tabs in Firefox with a middle click on the link. It really sucks to control+click, then select Open in New Tab. Thats all the questions for now... i'm exhausted. To bed I go, thanks in advance Mac Crew.
