I've been watching this forum for maybe the past 2 months and been reading and reading and reading... oh and READING. I tried to lift last year for 5 months but my diet was dirt and I didn't push myself very hard ... or atleast as hard so I should have been. I recently changed my diet to 3000 calories a day 200 grams of protein and tried to include Wheat bread and much MUCH more veggies / fruits. I rarely drink soda and get down a gallon every day of that good ole h20. Diet mostly includes chicken,eggs,veggies,peanut butter sandwiches, lean steak , nuts, many others foods. My problem is when it comes to the actual work out, I have a bench set and a curl bar and a 8lb medcine bal. I never played sports and not even sure how to do squats / dead lifts or even if i can with the simple set up I have. Yes it is embarrassing but I only max out at 140. I'm a little guy and been trying my hardest to gain weight. I've been reading the diffrent work outs but what should I do with this little set up, should i just bite the bullet and go to the gym? Should I just buy another 100 dollars in equipment and do what I can here? Also what type of work out should I impliment? Bonus question, I have a little brother who is 13 and weights 170 and is 5'9 or so and wants to play football next year so he is trying to get big as well. Any advice would be apperciated. yes some may think or , but i'm trying to commit and really push myself. My goals are to be a solid 185, plan on being around for awhile and understand that this will be a long process. Btw also been taking whey 2 scoops a day.
