Is this a fast sharp lens?

I think I am going to pass on the thrifty Fifty since it doesnt seem to be wide enough for me on crop.

I like it on FF but to tight on crop like a lot of you said.

From what I read and the test I did with my 28-90 zoom on DX and FF. I like the 35mm better. It gives me more room to work with.

I would love to get the 28mm 2.8 but this is a start.

Great little lens. Very usable on FF too. :)

So is this lens sharp at 1.8 or does it need to be at 2.8 for it to be the sharpest?

I know you all said the 50 needs to be at 2.8 to get optimal sharpness out of the lens.

If you have to ask if the lens is good or not...it'll suit you just fine at 1.8 as it will most of us.

1.8 is pretty damn good

the 50 does not have to be at 2.8 to be sharp
