Just started today. Any ideas why? Firefox and IE timeout. Exit torrent program, no problems.
comcast I bet you are right
It confirms what I thought. Pricks I just paid them $239
jeez, I thought I had it bad paying $140 for my cable phone and internet
Yes, now I know what multimedia rape is. I do have every station, 2 dvrs, and 4 converters. I don't even mind the $$$ but why screw with my service. No warning, just hose my connection like that. Time to start looking for new providers.
i have comcast, no problems
what changed in your setup?
Nothing. I did download a ton of stuff the last few days. If I run BT on any PC it kills the browsers on all the PCs in the house. Downloads will work.
being throttled FTL
but you get Powerboost when you browse youtube
I'm COMCAST'S bitch now.
try changing which ports BT uses, if you use utorrent set it to encrypted
What router do you have? My D-Link takes a shit and reboots when I have that many simultaneous connections at once. Sounds like you have the same issue. Watch your router's lights when outage occurs...I bet it's rebooting.
well, it could be comcast, but it could also be a lot of things.
try power cycling the modem, reset your router, try diff ports
change your client settings, reduce max global connections, etc.
if xp, try the tcpip.sys hack
Thanks all. Will try reset of global settings , then the hack. Already reset modem, router, ect.
Again, much thanks for the help.
Limit your upload speed. I bet it's maxing out, this used to happen to me all the time on my 1mb upload cap.
Nothing above worked. Thanks for the help anyway. VM from comcast CS that I need to call them today.
Search the main for torrents. There's a thread for this exact problem and the fix.
The big things are reducing the upload rate and the number of connections. If you have either of these numbers too high you'll set off most providers/modems/routers.
in for updates
also, switch to a torrent client which has encryption
what I was going to say.
If you're using all of your upload speed uploading torrents, you don't have anything free to make requests for other usages, or to spit out ACKs when data is received. Try capping your torrent upload speed, or using an auto-adjuster. There are a number of Azureus plugins which will automatically adjust your torrent upload speed.
stop stealing shit and then the problem goes away.
downloading tv shows isn't illegal
yes it is.
[i do it]
no, it isnt
