Looks awesome, I have a feeling we won't be seeing it in most gyms for many years.
Edit: Would this be good for maxing out on squats?
And also, I'm sure that adds some horizontal resistance too. Hook the horizontal slider to the pulley too and we'll have some interesting results
Self-spotting machines are nice when you can drop the weight. If you are trying to max out on squats it would be difficult to get the weight off you safely (let it roll down your back?).
I've seen a similar machine in a Boston Sports Club gym...pretty nice stuff, but it is difficult to become accustomed to using a self spotting machine. You drop the weight but it is still held up until you grab the bar again..it felt weird to me
if it was pimp enough, it could be sensitive to touch, and if you took your hands off of it, it wouldnt move anymore. not sure how that would work with it resting on your back though.
