Wait...what? 240 processor cores? Holy shit. How did I manage to miss that?
that's not really a chipset, that's a graphics set.
It's designed for scientific applications.
They have external enclosures that support two cards in SLI. It draws 500W
It draws 500 watts? Wow.
I know this is like 3+ years back, but how have nVidia chipsets evolved since the nforce4 times? I absolutely HATE my nforce4 because of hardware conflicts..
that's the external enclosure with 2 of em. So each is probably 225-250W.
nforce4 was crap. nForce2 was the last good nvidia chipset, imo.
I've still got my original nForce. (EDIT: Maybe it's nForce2? I dunno, it's for an Athlon XP.) Never had any problems.
(when I say "my original nForce", I really mean I used to have a VIA board and I bought this one off eBay for $20 because I wanted to max out my old hardware. )
nforce2 was axp.
It's a good chipset, at any rate.
horse and buggy was a fast way to get around, at one point, as well.
No, it still is a good chipset. I'm not comparing it to the latest and greatest, but it is still in service. Just like a fast horse is better than a slow horse, even if a sports car beats them both.
just because something works doesn't make it still good... or even relevant.
