We needed a bunch of moderate votes and we got them looking at 2016 and 2020 pop vote. Electing a far left opponent wouldn’t have done that bc socialism is a scary word that Americans don’t understand. I can’t imagine Warren or Bernie swinging the states we needed

maybe. & we'll never know. but i do think the anti-trump turnout was bigger than the turnout for anyone actually enthusiastic about biden.
i guess the question is: would the obama voters who went for trump over clinton have gone for bernie rather than trump again.

Ya i def agree with the anti Trump turnout. Personally, I’ve heard/know a lot of people here voting for biden but wouldn’t for a socialist

without getting too nuanced here, trump in 2016 ran a lot like bernie...populism wise. he promised free healthcare 'like Australia' had 'even if we have to pay for it & even if it costs me votes'
he was very anti-war. very similar to bernie on trade. etc.
