Specs: 2.0ghz Core Duo, 2gb ram, Vista Home Premium It used to take forever even OPENING Office applications (Outlook would open fast, as well as excel, but now even Excel loads slowly when opening, it seems to have degraded). I found suggestions via Google searches saying to delete the normal.dot, which worked, but the .dot was replaced and the next time I stared an app, it would load slow AGAIN. I found another suggestion telling me to create a shortcut and start the apps with a /a ("C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\WINWORD.EXE" /a). This loads the app quickly, but if I open a document it sits there "running virus scan" for several minutes. Even outlook takes forever to open the first email (the subsequent ones load just fine). This is a huge pain in my arse as I have to load 20-30 documents a day for proposals, loan apps, contracts, etc. I've tried running the installer to repair it, didn't work (it went through repair but to no avail). I've even uninstalled and reinstalled, and again, no luck. Ideas?
