It was amazing and surreal at the same time. I didn’t know what I was seeing at first![]()
Yeah which for Martinsville is blazing fast. I mean he really did that well, another 1/4 to 1/2 lap of that and the car would have been dead. But 650hp riding the wall like a rail was a great way to get the team into the final round.Apparently he was going 125mph when he started riding the wall![]()
The track record was 18.954 seconds. Chastain's final lap was 18.845 seconds.Yeah which for Martinsville is blazing fast. I'd expect this move to be banned going forward though![]()
My knowledge of these things is very limited but my FIL ran IHRA pro stock for five years and he stated that stricter regulations tend to benefit the rich teams since they can afford the R&D to squeeze out the last bit of performance within the regulations.
Welp…now Chastain didn’t even need to do that. Keselowski failed inspection and was DQ’d

But Kes was the difference between Hamlin and Chastain. So Kes being eliminated negated that difference.Kes was ahead of both

Yes, points are not final until after inspectionIf Chastain didn't pass Hamlin in the race though, before the Brad DQ, Hamlin would have been in, wouldn't he? But now that Brad was DQ'd, they'd have to correct the championship 4 after the correct point corrections?
So the finale of that race turned out to be better than having to correct it after the fact.Yes, points are not final until after inspection
I hope not. What if you get squeezed on the outside during a pass. It would be better if they said intentionally riding the wall is a penalty. Still have to make that call but leaves more flexibility. One of the greatest last lap moves of all time
Next up, NASCAR announces a new rule, "you cannot touch the wall with your car AND gain positions"
This made for a much better ending.Would have been a shit show if they left the broadcast with 11 in and then changed it later. Ross did NASCAR a favor lol
