Just wanted to let you all know my wife has fully decorated the house for Christmas and is already playing Christmas music and watching the hallmark channel. I am not pleased, put some respect on Thanksgiving
Bro I watched this and its sequel two nights ago because I couldn't sleep.

IDKY but the girl is really cute and they are a real life couple and she wrote it. It's really dumb but you know, christmas hallmark movies

Hopefully she doesn’t bug me this weekend to do the outside. I am not ready for that.

I've had my Christmas lights up since November 1st. We live in a heavily Diwali-celebrating neighborhood, so we were one of the last houses to get them done.

True. Yet misinformation and ignoring reality to cope with reality have dominated for 3 years. People want to believe that kids are too innocent to get the bad Covid and that a cute little kid sniffles Covid won't transmit badly to grandma

From the article

“Even as recently as this summer, people were saying, ‘Oh, Covid doesn’t spread in schools,’ and there was a misconception that kids don’t get Covid,” said Dr. Raifman, who was not involved in the new research. “But what we see in the study is that Covid does spread in schools, and it spreads back home, and it spreads to teachers.”

My kids had the flu much worse than they had Covid.

My guy, even within this thread of the few people left on this forum who even care about Covid anymore there are only maybe two of you who are 2020 worried left, extrapolate that as you wish

I mean no, most of us don't believe kids are too "innocent" to get bad covid.

It's just that there isn't much left to be done about it unless you want to sacrifice their overall well being for a very tiny small chance of negative outcomes.

Vaccinate you and your kids, stay home when sick, wear a mask if you're worried, move on

I was terrified of COVID because my dad had so many health conditions. I didn't want the kids to pass it on to him. I didn't want that.
So I was draconian AS FUCK about going places. We didn't go out to eat. We kept family gatherings to a minimum. It wasn't until early this year that I basically accepted things as they were.

My dad ended up dying from a heart attack unrelated to COVID anyway. I went to dinner with my family last week, and we all regret not going out and doing more things with him when he was still alive.

Fear of COVID stole the last year of my dad's life from us, when the whole point was to try to save it.

I think we all did things that we could take back. Your intentions were solid and based in love.

Same, my friend. You know our stories are so incredibly similar.

Lots of regrets, here, too, but we were all doing the best we could and trying to scrutinize our past decisions leaves us in an unwinnable grief cycle. I'm so, so sorry for your loss, but all of your intentions were from a really selfless place of love.

Thanks and hope your family is doing well.

I didn't really wanna make this about me but just to remind people that there's a cost to hyper vigilance for COVID.

My kids have been much happier the last year getting back into activities and doing normal kid things.

It's so weird seeing how they went into the pandemic babies essentially but they are now just small humans.
