You are encouraged to use programming languages that are offbeat and not used in mass. The more original the code, the better chance you will have that it is recognized in the forefront.
Please note your code well, we all dont want to have to decipher what you wrote. It should be clear and concise.
If the code needs compiling, please include the source and binary. Specify what operating system the code runs under and if any virtual machines have to be run in the process.

There are no clear winners, The top pieces of code will be announced on the the sunday that the contest ends.

We will. I think this is more of a test run to see how much interest there is for this. We'll have more to come I'm sure.

this is interesting if your imagination is good enough...

but I suppose, the next objective could be up for some open debate... That is assuming that the turn out for this contest is good enough.

    oh which reminds me...
CompiledMonkey, how do you feel about outsiders competing?
I do remember rule number 1. But maybe we should establish some sort of ground work for the competition with that regards.

The more the better. I see this as a way to expand CP and get more people in the forum coding. Bringing in new members is a plus. ;)

what i meant by more interesting is that those not involved in programming can actually become involved in the contest by testing and maybe even voting for winners.

well give us some specifics on what you have in mind. I can sure as hell edit the first post's rules. If what you propose makes sense...

Yea, it's tough thinking of ways to make your code less efficient... I'm usually a pretty efficient coder myself, so it's a challenge for me too. I figured out some ways though ;)

i should have my co-worker write me some code! He drives me nuts with his shitty code sometimes. I bet if i told him to write me a program to compute 2+2 he'd win hands down without knowing that he's trying to make it ineffecient. :o

It seems like we're getting a lot of interest from the main forum. I'm curious how many entries we'll get. :dunno:

BTW, I've already completed one solution. :big grin: Thinking about doing others in other languages...
