I sold a Speedster kit car that was Corvair-powered. Thing was a lot more fun and "Porsche" sounding than its VW-powered peers. This came by the shop the other day

should talk to your friend more often
I met one of the biggest retail Porsche dealers in the US last night. He has an impressive collection. Like ridiculous. We were talking P cars and he has a thing for a certain color so I showed him an IG pic of @Bob Sandvagene’s car and he looked up and me and said WHY?

997.1 GT3. Lots of track time on it but built and maintained by Orbit Racing, a big race shop down here that does excellent work. They did clutch/flywheel/pinned coolant lines/rear diff and the car is spotless underneath. All 0s on the DME report, but range 1 doesn't register until 9000rpm on these so it doesn't rule out the car living at redline it's entire life but good to see regardless.
The front splitter is the GT3 RS splitter I believe and the exhaust has a RSS X-Pipe on it.
Used car manager didn't want to honor the trade price the assistant manager gave me on the Cayman. He also refused to replace the battery despite it being old and struggling to start. Signed the paperwork, came out to leave, didn't crank (lol) and the salesman went to go get a jump pack. While he's jumping it, the dealership owner notices and comes by and I explain everything with the used car manager and he promises me a new battery and I left the car there. I actually have an Antigravity lithium battery sitting at home for it so I didn't care about the battery but out of principle yolo fuck them.
I did a 20 mile test drive of it about two weeks ago. Wanted to keep the pink car but kept thinking about how good this car was. Literally couldn't stop thinking about it for a week or so. They knocked $10k off the listed price and I got another 2k off in person negotiating on it and my full trade in value so I'm happy with the deal. Will be a fun restoration project as I undo 15 years of wear as much as possible.
