Cayman isn't out, but I'd probably have to have a GTS4.0 or a GT4 or something along those lines if going Cayman.I've driven 993/996/997/991/992 now
I thought about it long and hard and went with a 997.1 GT3. The steering, small sizer compared to the new cars, noise, feel etc are all very analog and the car ends up being so much more engaging than the newer cars.
The newer cars have better tech, better aero/performance (hell a Civic Type R is faster on track than my car) / are more comfortable etc. They're much more isolated from the road than the 997, there's a distinct move to grand tourer starting with the 991 and you lose a lot of what the 911 was but it appeals to more people, so I understand why they did it.
If you can live with a Cayman, I think both the m 981 GT4 or a 718 with the right options are pretty fun, you get some of the rawness, you get more performance and they end up being really fun cars.
