Apple has announced an iPhone OS 4 event for April 8th.
Won't be ready till July most likely.
WWDC = iphone and MacBookPro updates, maybe MacPro's...
rumors are that os 4.0 will make the ipad obsolete.
$5 says apple will ABSOLUTELY FUCK UP a multitasking implementation, if there is one.
when was the last time apple fucked up?
Honestly I could give a shit about multitasking, I just want to be able to tether without being jailbroken...
Ahh? This was implemented in 3.0.
Not on AT&T
And they're still on AT&T so it's not gonna happen.
I'll take you up on that. They did a remarkable job with copy/paste. I bet they'll use something like the current iPod mini remote where you double click the home button and it brings up a dock type thing that has all the running applications.
Well let's hope the rumors of them coming to Verizon are true.
where is this info? I don't see anything on Apple's website...
The more I read about it the more I begin to believe it will happen.
We've been hearing this since the iPhone was first released. Now there are articles saying that Verizon's CEO said he wants the iPhone. I don't ever see Verizon giving Apple the control of the iPhone that Apple wants and I don't see Verizon being cool with being cut out of the profit the App Store makes for Apple. Having said that, I could see it happening at some point but until I hear Jobs say the words, I'm not buying into every stupid article telling us why it needs to happen or why it should happen.
oh, lol - Rogers isn't great, but we can tether.
If the iPhone came to Verizon, I'm sticking with AT&T. It would drive me crazy to be using data and not get a phone call. When the iPhone was using Edge, if my brother was sending a text, I couldn't call him. Same thing would happen with Verizon until they upgrade their networks. Also, if I want to travel out of the country, I want to be able to have a phone, if only for an emergency.
I hate Verizon. They fucked up my bill and minutes and everything. Id spend probably 30-45 minutes on the phone every other month with them trying to get it worked out. When my year contract was up I cancelled. I got bills for 3 more months. Of course they didn't know why, just like why my bill was always 2 times what it should have been. I had nothing but bad luck with that company, never again. /rant
My girlfriend just tried to switch her service to another phone and we jumped through hoops to be able to even do that. Absolutely ridiculous. Oh well. To each their own.
They have dropped the ball on EVERY SINGLE "big" feature they have rolled out.
honestly, i don't even give a shit about multi tasking. sure it would be nice on rare occasion, but it drains the battery, and i would much rather have battery life than being able to run some retarded app in the background.
i am perfectly happy with my jailbroken 3GS. only things i can think of that i want improved are a better camera, possibly a flash, increased battery life (this is just a given), and better build quality.
i've heard rumors of a "cheaper" iPhone and i say fuck that. the iPhone should be top of the line and not affordable to everyone. it is an elite phone and in order to make it affordable, shit has to be sacrificed and that is most often build quality. if you look at the durability of the 1st gen iPhone vs the 3G or 3GS, there is no comparison.
I would like to see a new home and lock screen. In the lock screen I hope they keep privacy in mind. A lot of the jailbroken lock screens I see list who all your new emails and texts are from. I'm not convinced that I need backgrounded apps but I have faith that apple will roll out something that works smoothly on their device.
Especially with push, I'd love to have weather and sports scores or a stock ticker be an option on the home screen.I know it gets busy but it'd be a nice option
they don't normally promote stuff like that on their webpage...
macworld (well, not anymore )/ wwdc at best... ie: public events
little random ones and town halls are pretty much invites to the tech and news sites...
