Apparently Canon has stopped drug testing.
oh, and the 1DMIII is out:
that camera sounds pretty ridiculous.
thats really gnar
Oh, it gets better: 3" LCD with liveview to compose on the LCD with the mirror locked up. AF control on the body as well as the lens, a new 580EX II flash which is weather sealed (and includes a fucking PC socket finally!!!) that can be fully controlled from the camera menus. 10 frames per second shooting up to 110 frames max. 14 bit color (up from 12 bit) and highlight priority mode to extend dynamic range in the highlights. ISO expansion now to 6400. And a 300k shutter life.
All wrapped into a smaller and lighter body (by half a pound!!) than the 1DMIIN. Fuck me! Who wants my 20D's???
comprehensive info: http://www.robgalbraith.com/public_files/Canon_EOS-1D_Mark_III_White_Paper.pdf
You can now attach a hard drive via USB to the camera and shoot like a mad man. fucking cool.
OMG FUCK ME, that camera looks insane!!!
I wonder how they got it up to 10 FPS? I thought they were limited by the mechanics of the mirror and shutter, not the throughput of the CMOS sensor... Maybe it was the shutter and mirror and they redesigned it.
Wonder how much it will be? $5000?
The redesigned both shutter and mirror (shutter is DOUBLE the life of the 1DMIIn) and it has a new silent mode that lowers sound output to 70Db. Fuck me.
They also finally fixed that damn problem with losing images when the CF\SD door is opened.
The price is going to be the same as the old 1DMIIn: $3999 and available in April. FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!
Oh, and did I mention the AF microadjust in the camera so you can adjust front and back focus problems without a trip to Canon service? And did I mention the new batteries that are like the Nikon D2X with better status reporting of remaining life to the camera? (and they are about 60% smaller than the old batteries)
Seriously, they really listened to ALL the complaints when they put this camera together.
mother of god..
so it has two processors which are in charge of different tonal ranges?
edit: just noticed the white paper.
Canon, setting the standard once again. Better get to work nikon sackriders
ef 16-35 mk II
For you guys that like detailed pictures: http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/eos1dm3/html/top.html
and a 580EX II also.
The dual Digic III processors appear to handle several duties including the expanded tone range and high speed shooting processing.
14 bit is sweet.
About one-fourth the pixel count of a RAW image, Canon’s new 2.5-megapixel sRAW image type offers particular advantages. It enables more memory card storage than other image types as well as album storage on a PC. sRAW images — about half the size of RAW images — are eminently suited for e-mailing and now can be directly printed from the EOS-1D Mark III, a new feature
Live view looks to have a rule of thirds overlay grid/anti-Pelf feature too.
above and beyond
4k not bad at all...really want to see new 1ds...
nikon really must step up.
i was waiting for a 40d release.
My god, people on DPR and FM are calling it a disappointment. It's stunning how bad those forums suck.
god damnitt I'ma have to switch to canonz
lol, for what reasons? no built in flash master? not enough mpix?
the camera doesn't disapoint, but a 40d and 1dsIII are still needed
