I usually end each set of pullups with a two arm hang, not quite all the way dropped, but holding a little tension.
For how long?
Been doing these in the last week. Today was the first day I tried and did 3 sets of 30 secs for each arm. Well did 25 secs for the last set on the right arm. Weird thing is it seems to be slightly easier with my left arm though left arm has always been weaker and left rotators have been a pain the last few months.
I was doing pullups with a 45 today and at the end of each set I would hang for about 30 seconds.
It depends, if I am holding a 50lb db between my feet I am lucky to get 20s or so. If I am just doing bodyweight I usually hold for 30s.
I tried hanging for a minute, forcing myself through the pain. I'm up to 1:20
It works 70% of the time...all the time.

do you keep your arm in a L shape when hanging?
yeah I don't get it One arm hang? So just hang from the bar for as long as you can with one arm? Sounds easy enough
Rock climbing a solid hour or so will own the shit out of you too. especially if you are trying to complete routes that are pushing your limits. don't be wussy about it though....no sitting down for 5 min. between climbs. Im wrecked every time i go to the climbing gym. by the time im done i have to concentrate on driving home becasue im so weak that my arms barely grip the steering wheel.
i would recommend it to anyone to add rock climbing to their workout at least once a week. either in a gym or go outside and go bouldering. or build a small wall in your basement or garage or back wall of your house.
I always wanted to rock climb at my univ gym. Just never got involved in it and I think it costed a lil bit of money to do too...I'm such a cheap ass
I tried this today, I did 2 sets of pull ups first 15 reps each then tried the one arm hang. I belive I am doing this right but not positive, I basically did a regular pull up and at the top let go with one hand and tried to hang with the other. I got pretty much 0 seconds. It seemed interesting I think I will try it again and see how I do.
Try it when you're fresh.
I've been going with body weight +45lbs with 2 hands for about a minute.
