First warning, I'm WAAAYY out of the loop on current PC hardware technology. I just upgraded my work computer to a 3 year old cpu/mobo that I bought it the Yardsale subforum. It's an AMD socket AM2 setup. It's the most "up-to-date" computer I own now. So anyways I'm looking to upgrade my personal computer. I'm on a tight budget. Ever since the Pentium 3 came out and had that tracking code in it I have never used Intel again. So naturally I began looking at some AMD processors. One caught my eye. AMD Athlon X2 4850e 2.5GHz AM2 45W Dual-Core Processor for $60 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103255 Some quick Googling turns up many articles saying Intels are faster than AMDs. Here is a similarly priced Intel chip. Intel Pentium E2200 Allendale 2.2GHz 65W Dual-Core Processor for $71 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116063 So how would these compare in your opinion? Also when it says 2.5Ghz dual core, does that mean that each core is 2.5Ghz?
