personally, i like them for teh ab work out..
opinions of them?
i like them for abs. dont like being on the floor cuz it kills my neck O-o
Try doing a DB bench on one
dumbbell bench on the ball?
interesting.. i guess it would be tough to balance, hence work it out more
i'm just scared the ball will pop..
anyways, i will def try that!
ball shouldn't pop unless you're using some mondo weight with a barbell ... and you'll probably want to try it light first, since it's more challenging.
as everyone has already said...good for abs, that's pretty much it id say, unless people do more stuff with them
i use it to stretch out my back before doing deadlifts.
Hmm. I've never thought about doing db bench on them tho. Might give it a try today.
A bunch of hockey players at this other gym do squats on top of them.
One of them used 135 lbs.
i can't even imagine doing squats on an exercise ball...how do they get in position?
Ive seen peopel Db bench on them as well.
They place it by the squat rack. This one guy just hopped on it. Though the others had to use the posts to steady themselves first.
Thats my ultimate dream.
any pictures of it being done?
My gym doesn't allow phones just because of pics being taken. I assumed the same for other gyms.
Something else fun to try on a ball:
Make sure you have a ball that's large enough to support your weight and that's a decent height off the ground. Try to position yourself so you're kneeling on top of the ball. Start by putting one knee up, then the other, and try to straighten your back. Hold the position for as long as you can. This is an incredible test of core strength.
My kung fu instructor is the only one I've ever seen who can actually pull it off.
Weird, mine too (24).
I guess it's because if someone is doing an exercise improperly, they don't want any lawsuits coming back to them saying that the trainers hadn't properly instructed the people? Then again, everyone signs a waiver with membership ...
Or maybe it's just because of people not giving written conesnt to be in photos while walking by?
They put both feet on one ball, then squat just like normal?
That seems so dangerous.
I suppose if you had a thick mat underneath and did it without any weight ...
If they were doing them with a bar on their back, that's pretty insane.
Then again, you're talking about guys who beat the shit out of each other on the rink. If I took enough shots to the dome on a daily basis, I might think of some crazy shit to do in the gym, too.
They also regularly have a bunch of actors working out at my gym whenever they're shooting in town.
I bet you could outlift a lot of them, and I bet you look better than most of them too.
Met anyone famous?
Talked to Walberg when he was here fiming "Four Brothers" and saw 50 Cent a number of times.
Jamie Foxx worked out here too.
Trainer told me Catherine Zeta Jones and Rene Zellwigger (sp?) worked out here regularly as well when filming Chicago.
Relic Hunter chick I saw here regularly as well before the show got canned as well as one of the main actors from Mutant X.
The director of Pacifier works out here still and so did Vin Diesel when he was in town.
I'd like to workout with Diesel.
You live in LA or something?
No. Downtown Toronto.
vin diesel didnt work out in the gym, he simply picked the gym up and worked out with it.
