First off, here is my bullshit story of as to why I stopped going to the gym. It was about the time of November/December 2003 when I contracted a cold, and the symptoms never really went away. Such as mental awareness, plugged sinuses, constant drowsiness. I went to see my doctor. Blood tests showed elevated liver enzymes for CK, GGT, basically all the enzymes that have to do with muscle tissue repair, and constant over working of the liver to keep your body healthy. I was then booked in for a series of tests. All of these are liver tests, and they all came back negative - ultrasounds, the test where they put radioactive dye in you and take pictures of your bile system, CT scan, MRI. After three years I was finally booked in at the University of Alberta Hospital with the liver specialist. The initial appointment was a blood test requisition for about 15 different liver checks. This blood test (which was 13 tubes of blood may I add ) led my specialist to perform the following two tests. Colonoscopy and a Liver Biopsy. I should also add that during the period of August 05-October 05 I had diarehhea everyday all day, 3-7 times a day. The colonoscopy found ulcerative collitis (look it up, im not explaining it), and the biopsy found Primary Scleroscing Colengitis (look it up too). So now I take 8 pills a day for these two diseases. I am constantly tired everyday by 12-2pm. One of the side effects is drowsiness, and that one has hit me hard. But I really need to get back into the swing of things with the gym.
