If your trying to lose weight should you be staying away from fat?
Never really understood this.
healthy fats help to metabolize other fats
also what Mass said
When trying to drop weight most of the population (particularly Americans) benefit most from a reduced carbohydrate diet, and raising good fats.
Try to make a majority of the fats in your diet stem from sources like olive oil, peanut butter, peanuts, almonds, and any fat that comes with eating lean meats.
I've read that if you drop below something like 80 grams of fat a day (don't quote me on this exact figure) that your test levels will drop. Fat plays an important role in our bodies. Protein > Fats > Carbs
I can't back this up with any science but I do notice my body tending to be more "anabolic" when fats are high and carbs are lower. Granted, I have never been on gear so this perception of "anabolic" is quite relative... but my pumps are better, vascularity is better, and despite lowering carbs strength often goes up if I concentrate on high amounts of good fats.
