So far, all I have been able to find has been the kimber pro carry ten:
and the para:
www.stiguns.com has lots of double-stack models...
Wilson Combat offers the KZ-45 in a commander size
yeah, but only one of them is anything close to commander length, with a 4.15" barrel. And it's $2k.
double stack 1911 =
That's hot, but I'm looking into IPSC limted-10; is there anyway to run 10rd mags in that?
my, what a compelling argument you have to back you up.
I don't know. I don't know if they are 8+1 or 9+1
If you want double stack get a glock not some bastardized 1911.
I can't fucking stand glocks. Ugly as shit, they fit my hand like shit, and I'm much more accurate with the 1911 (even a bastardized one).
Then there's all the glock fanboys
Power factor for 9mm is too low
They come in 40
I don't like 40's.
Why don't you just get a fullsize?
i don't think it'd be as easy/comforatable for ccw.
Either get a race gun or get a carry gun
yeah, but race guns aren't all that practical. the idea of practicing/competing/carrying the same gun appeals to me.
Glock 35 then.
FWIW I think my full-size is easy to carry.
My G35 is a hot carry gun
Also, I definately think a 5" 1911 would be easier than a Commander-size w/ double-stack mag if you're doing IWB/OWB CC. Barrel length makes no difference then.
If you want to shoot Lim-10 just get a single stack with the Chip McCormick 10 round mags. That is what most of the Lim-10 shooters at my club use.
Also, I'm not sure if you looking at pure IPSC or USPSA... USPSA has a provisional "Single Stack" division that sounds like it is probably going to stick, and that basically provides a "stock 1911" division.
It seems that would be too easy for him.
Do not get the kimber I had one. Sharp edges on the grips and mags and did not conceal well at all. I carry a glock 30 that conceals beautifully now.
