I <3 this car. Hopefully he'll bring it out again so I can shoot it with my rig
that swap has never been done before, take notes kiddos
I absolutely <3 that car. Only two thing though. It would look alot cleaner if those vent looking things on the backs of the front fenders were smooth. Takes away from the car imho.
Other is why does he have a guage so far down the hood? He cant honestly read that with any reliability.
that is a very fucking clean car. he must baby that thing when it comes to wash and wax.
i fail to see your reasoning.
Ka > Sr
Sure if you like towing boats
not bad looking
clean.. the front fender part behind the wheel is a little rice though
ka24de with a turbo puts out more hp...
ka24de has more tq with same bolt-ons.
sr20det revs higher, making it a better choice for drifting.
sr20det is lighter
sr20det has turbo on it, so its the same cost as adding a turbo
sr20det was designed for high revving and turbo - ka24de(t) was not, and will not last as long
Point of this thread: neither engine is better overall, but application specific, the sr20det seems to be better for what the 240sx is generally used for.
ricey body kit, ricey fenders, ricey hood
my ka pulls all the way to 7000rpm just got to know how to work with a ka
sr's are the new b16 swap and the majority are stock thats why i hate most sr owners
Power? Mods? A friend of mine at work has a 240SX coupe, I think (notchback, anyways), with the SR20DET swapped in. Has the AEM standalone engine management on it, basically stock otherwise, and it's been dyno tuned to put 300 horses to the rear wheels. Fun ride!
nice, was that by the Port of Tampa?
Some shots were by the port and the others were off of Channelside facing downtown. The Port security came to talk to us but the guy was cool and didn't fuck with us. I've heard stories about them taking the CF cards or film but he said just pack up and head on out...luckly for us we had already shot about 40 shots from there so we just left. I'll be going back out sometime in the near future to get some action shots of his ride for a feature on freshalloy.com
i seriously hope your kidding.....had the stage 3 boost designs kit on my s14 and it lasted damn near 200k miles when i parted the kit sold it as a stock car.
i was well over the 300whp ballpark and it was fast, fucked up ls1's all day.
Not bad looking.
Need some good mods to pull the power out of that old Red Top though.
Whats so special about that swap?
If im not mistaking that is John's car from Tamparacing.com.
Am i right ?
