Sucks to learn that lesson the hard way.
Sucks for him, wouldn't of happend if the FAA didn't make there shitty lock setup mandatory
wtf is that real??
that lock is a joke, right?
Hopefully next time he wont be playing with his shit mid-flight.
nope that's the real deal
Accident waiting to happen.
well, I am honestly shocked that it took this long for an AD to occur, given the circumstances presented by that lock/holster.
Was it confirmed that the gun was holstered when it went off?
government logic at work
cali finds it easier simply to not issue chps.
holy shit, i can't believe the ignorance of whoever even thought of the idea for a holster like that.
What the fuck.
Even if they are forced to use that shitty lock, everyone (well, most knowlegeable people) knows not to put ANYTHING in the trigger guard until you are ready to fire, especially with a loaded firearm.
the majority of counties in CA are shall-issue.
if you have a permit in a shall-issue county, and then go to los angeles, is that permit valid?
can you apply in a county other than where you live?
can you live in one county, get a chp, then move to los angeles and keep the chp without having to go through the hoops of getting one through la?
I recall chp in cali being the big "yea technically its possible, but in reality, it aint gonna happen".
take my situation for example. right now, i'm a resident in merced county. my voters registration is for here as well as my drivers license. if i get a CCL here, then go home to SF that permit is still valid - it's a state system.
the only problem is going out of state. not many states honor CA CCL's
you could get a utah chp in addition to your ca chp. I'm not aware of any restrictions on holding more than one chp for diff states. iirc they are cheap, and issue them very easily to out-of-state residents... and they have reciprocity in most states.
so if I were to move back to LA the key would be to use an address in something like merced county on my drivers license? I think you can have a diff mailing addr so your dmv paperwork still goes to the correct address
yeah, a lot of places give out utah CCLs. that wouldnt be hard to get, and there is no restriction on having multiple carry licenses.
you can't just put an address for a county that gives out CCLs, you actually have to live there. but once you get it for the state, i THINK it's valid even if you move - i have to research that bit.
well, if I move back to cali and stay with my buddy who is in a shall-issue county while i look for a home, I get residency at that addr because I'm a "roommate" then why not. I mean so what if that's not where I WANT to live??
if you establish residency there, you'll most likely be able to get one.
moving after that is the kicker.
let me search some on CGN and see if i can dig up anything
