Orientate the phone in landscape mode, point it at the sky while propped up against something or mounted on a tripod, select night sight and it will enter Astrophotography mode. It'll take a 5 min exposure and run the google magic against the photo.

The darker the sky, the better the results.Pretty bad ass. I'm assuming its best to do that far away from city lights? Only place in Texas I know of you can see the Milky Way is in Big Bend.
