School a noob?
If I buy a complete lower, whats the difference and what am I allowed to purchase?
Doesnt make a fuck. Just make sure you comply withe necessary lengths if youre not gonna SBR.
depends on the state. IIRC there are still some states where you have to configure your new AR in post ban configuration. In your case in OK I think you can do just about anything you want except for a barrel under 16" unless you do the paperwork for a SBR
Yeah, unless you're in CA, NJ or a few other ban states, it doesn't matter for shit what kind of lower you get.
Surprisingly, it doesn't matter what type of upper you have in CA with the exception of SBRs.
Connecticut I believe is one state where you have to have a post ban upper. There are probably other states too.
new york is one of those shitty states..

To get to what the op was asking:
Pre-ban uppers generally have threaded barrels, while post-ban uppers generally won't. The key is to remember that the term post van means after the federal awb went into affect, not after it expired. A more appropriate term would probably be 'ban-era' instead.
