I'm sitting here F5'ing The Cage.
I'm considering changing schools.
That, and my shoulders are sore from Monday night.
My shoulders are sore too from conditioning circuits yesterday.
No more though, light rolling tonight and probably just shadowboxing and time on the bike tomorrow.
i'm looking at the Lee Reed thread and looking at his myspace. if someone *cough* could *cough* put the links in a PM or something i'll see about making t-shirts that have his pic and say something witty so the cage brotherhood have something to remember this whole shit by.
other than that i'm crying, no more BJJ for me until i get to the states. all i have is the gym and i pretty much hate it.
i'd like to know about the whole Lee Reed thing , the kid hits a tree for 45 min - 1 hour a day and that's all his training. , he's a monster i tell ya!
You fight Saturday?
How are you mentally? I'd be nervous as shit going into a fight. But then again, the last time I competed in anything physical was 19 years ago, and I blocked a heel kick with my face.
I'm not really nervous or scared at all, more excited (which could be my positive nervous energy). I've competed in stuff before individually so I kind of know the feeling, but Saturday will definitely be a unique experience.
I feel like I'm really ready and I'm peaking in my training, the past few weeks have just been great in the gym.
I'm just emerging myself in MMA this week, even while at work whoring these forums.
What's your entrance music going to be? And are you going to come out in sweats or a cool retro satin robe like Shamrock?
I don't think we get to pick our entrance music for this event, atleast I haven't been told to bring anything. I'll ask Placebo.
It's been so slow here that I registered at Sherdog yesterday.
Then I felt dirtier than a Chef Hwy massage parlor.
just make sure not to post how you discovered Penn vs. Pulver was a work or that Big John and Dana are on roids.
Works for me...
I have a hard time with executing a sweep from the guard. I can do it in drills, but never while sparring. Tips?
And Monday night was the first night at Gracie Barra Northshore. I rolled with a blue belt who tapped me twice in 4 minutes, once with an arm bar and once with some weird gi choke I'd never seen before. Then I paired up with one of the white belts and caught me in a triangle when I tried to pass guard. I got him the second time though with an arm bar out of a turtle. He'd never seen it before and I set it up perfectly. The third guy I rolled with was a newbie (didn't have a gi yet, was wearing fatigue pants and a borrowed gi) and I got him twice fairly easily (collar choke from guard, and kimura from mount). After that, I rolled with the instructor and got absolutely dominated. He only tapped me once in 3 minutes, but I couldn't get him in my guard to save my life. Makes sense since he's competing in the Worlds next week at Super Heavy, and I'm a n00b.
I cany straighten out my leg, and every time I pivot on it it feels like my knee is about to pop out
i got my ass handed to me in sparring last weekend. Really took the wind out of my sails and felt like shit about myself all weekend.
give it another go this weekend and hopefully be a little more crisp.
I got my ass tuned in rolling the other day too... I can't be too mad because I learnt a lot about my positioning and its only gonna help me later on.
Oh, and what I thought was a staph infection turned out to be really iritated skin just on a regular pimple, so I'm ok
I've moved over to a new lifting routine (NoQuarter's sticky at the top of F&N) from a 5x5 Bill Starr routine, and I'm so sore I can barely walk. I skipped out on class last night just because I woudln't have been worth a damn. If I don't grow from this routine, I'm seriously quitting lifting all together. The volume on this thing is crazy.
this girl at jiu jitsu think im cute! but shes leaving to ireland tomorrow
i suck too
what.. i like girls.
i try to update the cage with MMA news and crap, but most people don't respond to the threads
I try to respond, most of the time I dont have anything interesting to say. I could be like Bit and just post random pics i suppose.
