GM and Ford have threads, why not Chrysler?
They don't suck cuz of reasons stated by nindee vbmenu_register("postmenu_27120677", true);
they suck cuz they are owned by diamler benz
Chrysler new moto , Hey i think we can shove a hemi in that .
introducing the new cherokee with a hemi.
Hemi = overrated.
And for christ sakes people, the magnum is a FUCKING STATIONWAGON.
In the 50's Dodge gave a warning to all the other "performance" companies...
why is it that people have to spend so much mney to keep up with a stock MOPAR?
Explain... Specific examples please...
stratus ain't that cool
however i think i heard or read that the Ram passed up the Silverado or Sierra in sales
how about that the top TWO fastest production cars ever are MOPAR's and that Car and Driver's Top car showdown with the best "built" cars of 2004, Dodge Vipers took 1st and 3rd. I tried to find a link, but it was on Car and Driver TV, on Spike.
'62 Dart will beat the shit out of a '63 Vette
'64 Hemi -- first time out finished 1-2-3-4 in NASCAR
'68 Dart will beat the shit out of a '69 Camaro --- we're talking mid 10's from the factory beating ZL1s (FYI, ZL1 = all aluminum 427)
'78 Li'l Red Express will kick the shit out of a '78 Vette --- that's right, a pickup wasting a sports car
Only thing I see why Chrysler doesn't suck is the Cummins motor in the 3/4-1 ton Rams.
Agreed that the new Hemi is a Turd.
Hemi: (HEM -e) adj. Mopar in type, V8, hot tempered, native to the United States, carnivorous, eats primarily Mustangs, Camaros, and Corvettes. Also enjoys smoking a good import now and then to relax. - David Charles Gedraitis
The new Hemi produces 345 horsepower (5,600 rpm) and 375 lb-ft of torque (4,400 rpm) from 5.7 liters (345 cid*) - one horsepower per cubic inch.
Tell me again how that is a turd? Considering you can get that power in a station wagon or a luxury car.
When the Ram 1500 is able to perform as a truck I may give a damn. I could careless about what cars or SUVs it's in because I dont drive them enough to worry about it.
Stop making big deal out of nothing.. LS6's eat Hemis for breakfast
the Hemi is more emotions than actual performance. the only thing makes it special (until DoD from GM is out) is the MDS
i don't get it...
its a powerful and well designed motor, is this so hard to see?
i mean there are a bunch out now, the new 4.6 and 5.4, the LS1 and its derivitives(Vortec), LS2, and the 5.6 from nissan are all sound designs that more or less match each other
Or a Jeep
Not a fan of Chrysler, just because I don't like the feel of the cars.
But, the Dodge trucks are very aggressive and I like that. I hate all the other Dodge vehicles having the same front grill though. The SRT-4 is nice too, but only in performance.
And the Viper; just a car to me. From what I've read (no personal experience with one) they are far too difficult to drive at their limits, so a normal person would assume it handles like shit. Although they are very, very good handling cars, they are too difficult to drive.
And DSM's suck for reliability, plain and simple. My friend's white talon (which I owned from 120k-140k miles) is leaking oil from everything that can leak oil, compression is in low 100's high 90's for each piston, whatever. I also have a friend w/ a red talon that has 90,000 miles with a bent valve. And he hardly ever gets on it. However, the car does still move with these problems listed. Both of them are tearing down their engines right now...And I'm helping brandon rebuild his.
Station wagons are what's hot now. I see more WRX wagons around here than sedans.
At a flea market a couple years ago, a guy had a Lil Red Express for sale. Think he wanted like $10k for it.
Overrated and overhyped because of its name yes, but a well performing powerplant nonetheless. Definately better than the 5.9L in all aspects of performance and economy.
And I like RWD V8 station wagons... I'd love to have a mid 90's Caprice wagon with the LT1
I'll take a '58 Chevy wagon
