While not the exact reason, it may come in to play sooner than later. Time will tell.

Ridgeline rear doors prior to 2020(maybe 21) opened comically very little.

Using the same door checker from the front door, on the back, allows a slightly wider opening.

Cost all of $20 or so, and 15-20 minutes of time...so it seemed like a good use of a Saturday morning.
