how do you tell if a magazine is preban?
Before the ban there were no date stamps, after there were date stamps.
are you referring to the Cali ban or the Fed ban?
cali ban. are they not the same?
makes sense. thanks
There is no federal ban.
There is no federal ban, but doesn't the cali ban forbit any magazines with larger than a 10 round capacity?
If you are thinking about bringing any sort of standard capacity magazine into California, please don't post on a public forum. However, it is legal to replace parts on an existing standard capacity with parts from a mag made after 200.
import them as parts. assemble. win.
that is illegal. i just want to know if the magazines that my father haves are preban/
There's pretty much no way to tell. If they're already in CA, and your dad doesn't remember where/when he got them, just forget about it.
no, that is not illegal. It is perfectly legal to import replacement parts for a magazine. and besides, the ban regulates the purchase/acquiring of mags, not the posession. If you already have them, then go shooting and dont worry. Most LEOs I know dont give a shit if someone has a standard cap mag, they only notice if you have something like a 100 round mag or something.
Could I take out my AR with my father's 30 round magazines to the range or does he have to be there?
I am only 19 so I was wondering if they would get mad at me because I was not old enough to have them myself during the ban.
The ranges around here wouldn't question you. I doubt bakersfield is any more strict. I wouldn't worry about it. Mind your own business, don't shoot like a dumbass, and you should be fine.
+1, hell, that applies to basically everything in life.
