I only have time to work out late nights. Do you guys take protein shakes before bed?
if your cutting, take it with water. if your bulking, go nuts with milk.
my workout session ended at 9pm, slammed a protein shake w/water as soon as i got home, ate some food, and gonna slam another one down at midnight.
I am trying to cut as well. I only drink it with water.
Its absolutely fine, but you might want to look at a more substantive, longer digesting protein, like meat or cottage cheese.
Whey digests really quickly, which means your body will be catabolic longer. Meat or cottage cheese (my pre-bed protein) takes longer to digest, so your body is turning on for so long.
I usually have a whey shake when I get back from the gym at 8 or 9 and then have either some meat or some of my fresh off the truck casein at about 12-1.
protein before always.
when i drink protien shakes before bed i either....
get up in the middle of the night to go pee
or pee in the bed
i drink two shakes before i drink two shakes and then i drink two more.
Pullups for the win.
i wouldn't do a shake cause you'll be waking up 5 times a night to take a piss
eat some kind of whole food
